Mike Dean Refs West Ham Match

Last updated : 08 February 2010 By Brian Cartlidge

Blues have already had the pleasure of the Wirral-based official refereeing two of their games this season.

The last time Mike Dean took charge of a Blues game was in our 0-0 home draw against Manchester City on 1st November. Barry Ferguson was sent off for two bookable offences whilst Scott Dann and James McFadden both received yellow cards on that occasion.

Prior to the Man City game Mike Dean had been the man-in-the-middle for our Carling Cup 3rd Round away tie against Sunderland on 22nd September. The now departed Giovanny Espinoza and rookie defender Dan Preston were the two Blues players booked in our 2-0 defeat at The Stadium of Light on that occasion.

In total, Mike Dean has taken charge of 27 games so far this season in which he has handed out 96 yellow cards and 3 reds.

Simon Beck and Simon Long will be Mike Dean's assistants for the Premier League match at Upton Park on Wednesday night.
