Blues have already had the pleasure of the Wirral-based official refereeing two of their games so far this season.

The last time Mike Dean took charge of a Blues game was in our 2-2 home draw against Arsenal on 23rd February. Martin Taylor was sent off in that game for his now infamous tackle on Eduardo.

Prior to the Arsenal game Mike Dean had been the man in the middle for our 1-0 away defeat at Manchester City. Liam Ridgewell and the now departed Wilson Palacios were both booked at Eastlands on that ocassion.

In total Mike Dean has taken charge of 37 games so far this season in which he has handed out 129 yellow cards and 9 reds.

J Stokes and D Richards will be Mike Dean's assistants for the game at the JJB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
