Phil Dowd The Ref For Palace Game

Blues have already had the pleasure of Mr Dowd refereeing two of their League fixtures so far this season whilst the Staffordshire official has also taken charge of two Palace games as well.

The last time Phil Dowd refereed a Blues game was in the 2-1 defeat to Fulham at St Andrew's on 22nd January. Damien Johnson was the only Blues player booked that day.

Prior to the Fulham game Phil Dowd had also taken charge of the home win against Manchester City back on 24th August when Muzzy Izzet was the only Blues player booked during the 1-0 win.

Phil Dowd's last game in charge of a Palace fixture was back on 13th November in their 3-2 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield. Michael Hughes, Gabor Kiraly and Joonas Kolkka were the three Eagles players booked during that game.

Mr Dowd was also the referee for Palace's 3-1 defeat at Portsmouth on 11th September 2004 when both Fitz Hall and the now departed Shaun Derry received yellow cards.

In total then, Phil Dowd has taken charge of 13 Premier League games so far this season in which he has handed out 34 yellow cards and 3 reds.
