Blues have already had the pleasure of the Orpington-based official refereeing three of their games so far this season.

The last time Mr Bennett took charge of a Blues fixture was in our home defeat against arch rivals Aston Villa on 11th November 2007. Daniel De Ridder, Stephen Kelly and Fabrice Muamba were all booked during the 2-1 defeat at St Andrews on that occasion.

Steve Bennett had also been the referee for our home defeat against Manchester United on 29th September. Seb Larsson, Medhi Nafti and Franck Queudrue were all cautioned during the 1-0 defeat at St Andrews.

He had also been the man in the middle for Blues' opening game of the season at Chelsea with Seb Larsson the only Blues player booked during the 3-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge.

In total Steve Bennett has taken charge of 38 games this season in which he has handed out 122 yellow cards and 9 reds.

I Gosling and R Martin will be Steve Bennetts assistants for the game at St Andrews on Saturday afternoon.
