Keith Bertschins side, as they did against Sunderland Reserves last week, sailed into an early two goal lead at Ewood Park with goals from Njazi Kuqi and Neil Kilkenny.

However, Glyn Hodges' side fought back with a brace from striker Jemal Johnson, the second coming from the penalty spot.

Defender Marcos Painter then gave Blues a 3-2 lead only for Rovers to equalise again through Jonathon Douglas.

The 3-3 result left Rovers top of the Barclays Premier Reserves League (north) table, with Blues in second spot on goal difference.
