Blues Res 1 - Newcastle Res 0

Striker Craig Fagan scored the only goal of the game with a ninth minute strike from just inside the box after a right wing cross from Christopher Grondin.

And Blues could have doubled their lead ninutes after when Allsop's long-range effort just missed the target.

Kirovski and Fagan also saw shots from outside the box miss the target but the closest Blues came to a second goal came seconds before the half time interval - Darren Purses header from a Swierczewski right wing free kick was brilliantly kept out by Magpies keeper Adam Collin.

Blues continued to dictate the game in the second period and but for Collin in the Newcastle goal could quite easily have run up a bigger score - Fagan being denied on two occasions by the keeper.
