Liverpool Res 0 - Blues Res 0

Blues keeper Nico Vaesen proved the hero for Keith Bertschins side by saving a penalty from Liverpool skipper John Welsh midway through the second half.

In a game of few chances at a wet & windy Deva Stadium (anyone remember Daish and the trumpet) the closest Blues came in the first half was when Darren Carters free-kick smashed against the Liverpool crossbar with Reds keeper Luzi beaten.

Stern John also went close moments later with a decent shot on the turn that sailed inches wide of the upright.

Defences remained on top throughout the second period and apart from a Jovan Kirovski half chance for Blues and the penalty to Liverpool neither side ever looked like breaking the deadlock.
