Million Dollar Drop

So I sat and watched Chelski struggle against Stoke. I still can’t believe that we don’t have Jermaine Pennant playing for us. As I watched Jermaine I also watched the results/blogs/tweets and commentaries online of our game. Very entertaining stuff.

The Soccernet live table was showing us moving from 19th to 13th for a while. One goal up and six places up the league until the Baggies got a late goal and Arsenal couldn’t beat 10 man Blackburn. I would gladly take 15th and call it quits for the season right now.

All said and done three points at this end of the season are very valuable so despite it being a less than entertaining game the result was truly great.

Before the FA cup ¼ final I said I would take a loss in the cup in return for 3 points at home against Bolton. Well I’m happy but it still looks like a very nervous last 8 games. Good results against Blackburn and Sunderland are crucial because I can’t see Liverpool and Chelski giving us any points. And, to be frank, I can’t see us scoring against either of them.

I would love to see Kevin Phillips down the training ground showing Ziggy and Jerome the goal net and how to make 10 inches of football fit into 25 square yards of goal net. Phillips has always had a knack of slotting that ball home which was very apparent early on and less evident as age seemed to catch up with him after about 65 minutes.

Phillips also has the priceless skill of being where the ball falls. We need another Phillips because Jerome missed a sitter and still doesn’t seem to have any confidence. Ziggy does at least have a presence about him. And getting him off bench at least means the punters sitting behind him can see some of the game.

The biggest programme on the TV this year in Australia is the Million Dollar Drop and it seems that if we don’t get a few goals from somewhere we might be dropping millions in the next three months.

I am approaching the last 8 games with the same confidence as Jerome has in front of goal with just the keeper to beat. I feel like the bloke that assured Roman Abromovich that Torres was a bargain. But after all is said and done these next 8 games are what we as B'ham City fans live for. It's our excitement. And let's not forget we are a point above the Villa with a game in hand.

The question is where can't we get 3 points from Chelsea, Blackburn, Sunderland or Wolves. Okay, lets go a million on answer no1 please Eddie!
