Player Ratings: Newcastle (a)

Last updated : 06 November 2005 By Brian Cartlidge

Maik Taylor - Cost us what could be a priceless away point, or maybe even three!

Cunningham - Superb again.

Martin Taylor - Excellent and superb distribution.

Upson - Briiliant performance marred only by missing a sitter.

Clapham - Much improved - could it have been through having Stan back in FRONT of him?

Pennant - Always looked a threat.

Kilkenny - Bossed the midfield and improving with each game played.

Izzet - Superb. Protected the back-four magnificently.

Lazaridis - A decent enough return but what had he done to upset the ref?

Jarosik - Looked the most likely player on the pitch to score.

Heskey - Worked hard but first touch was poor on occasions.

Subs:

Forssell - Got on too late to make any impact

Pandiani - Ditto Forssell.

Subs not used: Vaesen, Tebily, Painter.
