Player Ratings: Sunderland (h)

Last updated : 27 February 2006 By Brian Cartlidge

Taylor - Never had a save to make.

Melchiot - Poor again.

Latka
- Superb from start to finish.

Taylor - Good return to the side.

Gray - Can't defend, can't tackle, never any end product when he gets into the oppositions half. Have I forgotten anything?

Pennant - Got better as the game went on.

Johnson - Substituted early on.

Izzet - Excellent for sixty minutes but injured again.

Jarosik - Superb. Our biggest threat in front of goal in the first 45 minutes.

Heskey - Best performance in a long while rewarded with a goal.

Sutton - Didn't look match fit.

Subs:

Butt (for Johnson, 25) - Great performance, especially second half.

Campbell
(for Sutton, h/t) - Lively but should have opened his account.

Dunn (for Izzet, 75) - Nice to see him back again!

Subs not used: Vaesen, Forssell.
