Player Ratings

Maik Taylor
- Reasonably composed but still some woeful kicking.

Tebily - Not entirely comfortable but did enough.

Lazaridis - Did well in his first game back after a long lay-off.

Upson - Possibly his best performance in a Blues shirt - magnificent.

Cunningham - Not quick enough or tall enough to handle Cole, so just out-thought him instead.

Johnson - Impressive all-round display.

Dunn - Pretty poor in the middle of the park, but a real, real threat in the final third.

Carter - Possibly struggled with the pace of the game at times, but generally did a job.

Savage - Like his old self, thank God. Like this, you wouldn't swap him for anyone.

Heskey - Outstanding in all departments, and just too strong and quick for Mellberg.

Morrison - Held the ball up well in the first half and linked well with Heskey.

SUBS:
Gray - Struggled to make an impact.

Anderton - Should have scored.

Clapham - Only brought on to run down the clock.
