Player Ratings v Charlton

Last updated : 09 August 2004 By Richard Barker

Maik Taylor - Generally sound, but one or two people blamed him for not coming for Powell's cross which led to the goal... I couldn't tell if that was justified though, being at the wrong end of the ground.

Martin Taylor - Dreadful distribution. Perhaps has been unfairly made a scapegoat recently, but today was a poor, poor game for him.

Clapham - Did ok. Not troubled too much defensively, and tried to influence things further forward without tremendous success.

Upson - Much better display, and did well in setting up Morrison's goal.

Cunningham - Nowehere near his best, and has resorted to cynical fouls of late, as his normal play is not getting him out of trouble.

Johnson - Usual tenacious self, arguing with officials, working hard, and putting across a few good crosses. Fine.

Hughes - Poor game in general, and just didn't look up for it, capped off by absolute howler of a miss.

Savage - Again, just didn't look at the races. Poor distribution and not his usual influential self.

Clemence - Up and down, some good moments, some poor ones. Average.

Forssell - Lively, but never really got close to scoring.

Morrison - His usual performance, but a goal too, so I guess that makes it good... or something. He did ok, to be fair.

SUBS:

John - 3 minutes at the end.

Not Used:

Bennett, Tebily, Barrowman, Motteram.
