Taylor - Superb. One excellent save from Lampard, came and collected superbly (apart from once) and handling throughout was sound to say the least.

Tebily - Best performance of the season so far and one superb clearance off the line after Taylors only mistake of the game.

Kenna - Another solid performance at left back so much so that he forced Gronkjaer into switching wings.

Cunningham - Back to his best. Marshalled the back four well against a formidable strike force.

Purse - Efficient. Got caught out of position a couple of times but hardly lost an ariel challenge.

Johnson - His usual industrial self and kept Bridges overlaps down the flank to a minimum throughout.

Savage - Never let Makelele settle, picked up his customary yellow card and could have given Blues the lead - the usual Robbie therefore!

Clemence - Excellent performance in keeping the threat of Lampard at bay for the full ninety minutes.

Hughes - Did well on the left of midfield and linked well with Kenna.

Morrison - Good first half but tired and went off the boil during the second period.

John - Superb performance. Held the ball-up well and worked tirelessly for ninety minutes.

Subs.

Lazaridis - Caused Johnson problems so much so that the Chelsea full-back was booked for one foul and duly substituted thereafter.

Kirovski - Did well in the ten minutes in which he played.

Carter - Only used to waste precious time close to the final whistle.

Team: Taylor, Kenna, Purse, Cunningham, Clemence, Savage, Johnson, Hughes (Kirovski 81), Tebily, John (Carter 89), Morrison (Lazaridis 66). Subs Not Used: Bennett, Barrowman. Booked: Savage, Tebily.
