Player Ratings v Newcastle

Last updated : 07 January 2007 By Brian Cartlidge

Taylor - Some scary moments and may have done better with Newcastle's first goal.

Kelly - Was playing well until getting injured.

Jaidi - Had the measure of Sibierski but couldn't cope with the pace of Martins hence the red card.

Upson - Bad mistake for Newcastle's second goal but overall played well.

Sadler - Struggled for the first twenty minutes of the second half but in the main had a decent game.

Larsson - Worked like a trojan when we were down to ten men and kept us in the cup with a well taken goal.

Johnson - Workmanlike as always but far too quiet to be captaining the side in my opinion.

Muamba - Back to his best.

McSheffrey - Quiet by his standards.

Bendtner - Some good touches but looked to have picked up a nasty injury.

Campbell - Scored but did little else for the 45 inutes in which he was involved.

Subs:
Martin Taylor (for Kelly, 34 mins) - Superb performance.

Danns (for Campbell 46 mins) - Better in the oppositions half than in his own!

Kilkenny (for Bendtner 71 mins) - Industrious.

Subs not used: Doyle, Clemence.

*Star Man* - Seb Larsson
