Taylor - Not troubled too much, but dodgy kick cost the goal.
Tebily - Defensively solid, and offensively awesome - one hell of a player in this form.
Kenna - Toiled and wasn't overly worked defensively.
Cunningham - Still has a few tricks up his sleeve himself for winning free-kicks, even against the master of the art - Alan Shearer, whom he had in his pocket.
Purse - If he could pass the ball, he'd be worth millions.
Johnson - Steady, but has now missed four gilt-edged chances in three home games.
Lazaridis - Always a threat, and perhaps deserved more from the forwards after his excellent supply.
Savage - Tenacious as usual, and benefitted from one particular moment of common sense/leniancy from Mr Styles.
Hughes - Not quite at his best, but could have scored a couple had it been his day.
Morrison - Worked hard, but lacks the real killer instinct.
Forssell - Not really his day - perhaps tried to do too much on occasions.

John - Scored the goal - what more can you want?
