Player Ratings

Taylor - Lucky to get away with the error just before half time but that apart did well when called upon.

Melchiot - Good all-round display again especially when going forward.

Gray - Not as good as last weekend.

Upson
- Surprisingly had his hands full with Saints youngster Blackstock but played ok.

Cunningham - Played well and put in some important blocks on the edge of the box.

Anderton
- Did ok despite the barracking from the home fans and almost netted what could have been the winner.

Dunn
- Quiet by his standards.

Johnson
- Usual workman-like performance.

Savage
- Didn't seem his usual self.

Yorke
- Some nice touches but didn't get much service.

Heskey
- Tried his socks off.

SUBS:

Gronkjaer - Looked jaded.

Clapham
- Nine minute cameo role!.
