Player Ratings Vs Arsenal (a)

Last updated : 02 October 2005 By Brian Cartlidge

Taylor - Brilliant. Kept Blues in the game but by his own admissions should have stopped the Arsenal goal.

Tebily - Did well in a centre-back role.

Clapham - Good, solid performance.

Upson - Obviously didn't impress the onlooking England manager.

Cunningham - Was playing ok up until the sending off.

Pennant - Good first half but with Blues down to ten men spent most of the second period in his own half.

Johnson - Worked hard and a little unlucky in conceding the penalty.

Clemence - Excellent return.

Gray - Ok first half but appeared to switch off in the second.

Heskey - Isolated after a good first half hour.

Pandiani - Ditto Heskey. Never threatened.

Subs:
Lazaridis - Nice to see him back.

Forssell - Not on long enough to make a difference.

Subs not used: Vaesen, Painter, Aluko.
