"It was possibly a fair result," the Blues boss said after the 1-0 defeat. "Ipswich played very well and caused us a few problems.
"We had no cutting edge up front and should have passed the ball better.
"People I have spoken to said that is the best Ipswich have played this season."
Asked about son Alex, playing for Ipswich, Bruce replied: "His mother will be very pleased for him!"
