Bruce's View: Liverpool

Blues left Anfield with a share of the spoils even though they were forced to play with ten men for more than an hour following Damien Johnston's harsh sending off after just 28 minutes.

"I'm delighted with the result but I'm disappointed as well because for half-an-hour we've been the better team until the sending off," Bruce said after the 1-1 draw.

"I don't think it's a sending off. They've both gone in for a high ball and Damien's got the ball. He even tried to pull out and we will definitely be appealing.

"It's hard enough to play the European Champions with 11 men so we've done well to get a point.

"Since the debacle at Man City we've picked up and I don't think it's any coincidence that we've got our big players back."

Two of those in David Dunn and Mikael Forssell both picked up injuries at Anfield - Forssell during the warm-up - but Bruce is hopeful neither injury is too serious.

"Dunn has hurt his calf. Forssell was injured in the warm-up and Jarosik was sick before kick-off but if we can keep them all fit I'm confident we will be ok.

"The lads got a little bit excited after the equaliser and Liverpool could have had four in the last few minutes.

"But Maik Taylor was brilliant and I think we deserved that bit of luck."
