"Walter will not be going anywhere until I can get someone in," he said after the 2-2 home draw.

"I've read all the reports from Spain and we have had an offer. But, we have not accepted the offer.

"He has not had the best of times but he is always capable of scoring. Until I get one or two strikers through the door he will not be leaving.

"We have now lost Jamie Clapham, who is to have a scan on his knee. That means we are now missing eight players, so how can I be seen to be getting any player out of the door?"

Commenting on the match, Bruce siad: "We played well at Tottenham at the weekend and you could see the confidence coming back into the side after some harsh words were said after the Manchester City game.

"We have not had the results we've wanted but against Manchester United we have witnessed an excellent game after twice coming from behind to get a draw."
