Bruce's View: Middlesbrough

Blues' Christmas joy was marred when Dunn suffered a re-occurrence of his hamstring injury and lasted only 54 minutes of the 2-0 win against Steve McClarens side.

Heskey had limped off five minutes earlier with a similar injury although Bruce said after the game that the strikers injury was not thought to be too serious.

"It doesn't look very good. Dunn's hamstring appears to have gone again, while Emile Heskey also had to come off with a hamstring.

"We don't think Emile's injury is too serious. We think we might have caught that in time, although he is a little bit sore.

"But Dunny looks as if he has got another hamstring injury which has gutted us all.

"These injuries put us under a great deal of pressure as we are already missing Dwight Yorke and Muzzy Izzet.

"It's typical of our luck. But it was still a very good win over a Middlesbrough side who has been playing so well this season."
