McLeish's View: Newcastle (h)

Blues dominated for the first 45 minutes but only led 1-0 through James McFaddens goal.

Newcastle came out looking a lot more spirited after the break and deservedly equalised through Michael Owen to earn a 1-1 draw at St Andrews.

"If we can keep picking up points then we hope that draws like this will be gold-dust," the Blues boss said after Monday night's match.

"I don't have a points target in mind but if we keep playing like that then we should be ok.

"McFadden looked the likely candidate to get something for us. He was a handful and he has certainly taken on the mantle and price tag of being a Premier League player.

"Newcastle deserved a draw for their second half display. Their international players made a difference.

"We couldn't quite get the second goal that would have given us some breathing space.

"But, the positives to take are that we are very difficult to beat at St Andrews. We have drawn lot of games at home but we have certainly given a lot of teams a game here.

"There is still a lot to fight for."
